Lean Six Sigma and more
Six Sigma is a set of practices designed to improve manufacturing processes and eliminate defects. Its application was subsequently extended to other types of business processes as well. In Six Sigma, a defect is defined as any process output that does not meet customer specifications.

Lean Manufacturing is a methodology to optimize flow. It is a way to increase efficiency, decrease waste, and use empirical methods to decide what matters, rather than uncritically accepting pre-existing ideas.

Lean Six Sigma is a synergized managerial concept of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma that results in the elimination of the seven kinds of waste (defects, overproduction, transportation, waiting, inventory, motion and over-processing) and provision of goods and service at a rate of 3.4 defects per million opportunities (DPMO).
