Poreusity in aluminum welds prevented.
Although the direct choice for a construction material is often thought to be steel, aluminum is a better option in several cases. The light, relatively inexpensive and corrosion-resistant material is used in a wide range of products. However, the quality of welds in aluminum might be disappointing, even if all the conditions are met for quality welding. Radio-graphs will show pores and/or gas channels. This article describes a method of aluminum welding with a field test resulting in a considerable reduction of rejects and repair.
